The gate valves which are the World’s Largest Valves of their kind in terms of weight and size, successfully passed all hydraulic tests (Shell Strength at 375psig and Seating Capability tested at 250 psig) and are being recently installed into the mega pipeline.
Trenergy was awarded and completed vessel repairs for a KOBM (Klockner Oxygen Blown Maxhutte) Furnace. This furnace arrived by barge at our St. Catharines facility and was subsequently delivered upon completion by barge as the furnace weighs over 400 metric tons.
KOBM Furnaces are used in the steel making process. To produce steel, the KOBM uses a mixture of scrap steel and molten iron from the melters.
